Tackling Organic Chemistry Lab

Approaching this quarter, I was the most nervous for my ochem lab. I had heard horror stories from friends at other schools and online, so I had a feeling that it was going to be the worst lab I'd ever taken. I ended up being super wrong. I met some lovely people in my lab, had an amazing TA, and actually ended up enjoying it way more than my previous gen chem labs. Even though it was a ton of work, I thought the experiments were more interesting, and I even enjoyed setting up the more complex apparatuses. I also felt like because I was required to write everything in my notebook, instead of having a lab manual, I actually did understand each lab much better. Enjoying ochem lab (or rather, not completely dreading it) was a really happy surprise for me this quarter, and I actually ended up doing really well in the class! I can only hope that my ochem lab next quarter isn't too bad...
