In Which I Enjoy Pie (not really)

In real life, I'm not the biggest fan of pie (I prefer cake). Turns out, I'm not a huge fan of fake chemistry pie either. In my chemistry class this quarter, I was introduced to ALEKS, the not-quite-beloved interface used to teach students chemistry. I have developed a close and tumultuous relationship with ALEKS over this quarter. Sometimes, I love it - filling in a pie slice or having it tell me "Nice job, Lola Elyse!" definitely gives me a boost of dopamine. Other times, I hate ALEKS more than anything, like when I spend 3 hours on one topic that makes absolutely no sense. However toxic our relationship is, ALEKS and I have been through a lot together, and I've definitely learned some chemistry along the way, as well as how to engage with an interface I'm unfamiliar with. I've also learned not to procrastinate: staying up until 11pm on a Sunday night hurriedly trying to finish my weekly module is not an enjoyable experience. So, I thank ALEKS for our crazy ride and look forward to filling in the whole pie (hopefully). So long ALEKS, and we shall soon face off again for CHEM 152.
